BuCor Security Survey Team
By virtue of Special order #390 S. 2007 creating the BuCor Security Survey Team headed by the undersigned, a security survey in all prison and penal farms was initially conducted from August – December 2007. Every year thereafter a follow-up survey shall be conducted by the team to ensure that the recommendations made during the initial survey are implemented.
Its mission is to intensify a pro-active defense and security measures to pre-empt violent disturbance within the penal colony reservation area and from outside forces. Its main purpose was to make the prison officials responsive of having a camp security defense plan and action to any eventuality and the awareness of the vulnerability of the prison camp from threats.
The members of the security survey team are tasked to observe, assess and evaluate the present security measu8res being implemented the premises of the different prisons and penal farms. It focused on the four significant areas of security survey, such as physical, personnel, documents and communication. After a thorough evaluation of the result of the survey which includes assessment on the actual performance of every prison and penal farm during the field training exercises conducted on their respective areas on hostage-taking, assault and bomb threat scenarios, the security survey team submit recommendations to the higher authorities of the Bureau of Corrections.
As head of the BuCor Security Survey Team enjoins all the respective penal superintendents of the different penal institution to revisit their camp defense or contingency plan to be able to prepare for any prison disturbances, such as, riots, hostage-taking, assaults, bomb threats to include attacks from outside forces.
You’ll be informed of the forthcoming revisit and follow-up survey by the Team Coordinate with all the participating elements to unify our efforts in solving any crisis.
