General Information
Leyte Regional Prison in Abuyog, Leyte operates its rehabilitation programs education programs thru non-formal education, applied training in building or residential wiring installation, horticulture, automotive, carpentry and agro-industry.

There were a total of 165 admissions, 150 of which were first offenders and 15 recidivists. There was 1 escape incident recorded. A total of 71 inmates were released on the same period (31 Parole, 18 Expiration of Sentence; and 22 Others).
Rehabilitation Programs
Health Care, there are a total of 3,377 consultations, 203 of which were admitted and 98 were referred outside. The 3 most prevalent diseases are UTRI, P. Neuropathy and Peptic Ulcer. There were 11 deaths recorded.
Education and Skills Training. There are 139 inmates enrolled representing 12.11% of inmate population. 20 recipients of the TC Program or 2% of the inmate population.
Sports & Recreation. There are 634 (55% of the population) inmates engaged in various sports activities to the various religious activities.
Religious Activities. There are 617 (54% of the population) participants.
Work Programs. 98 inmates (9%) participated in different work programs.
Accomplishments:
Administrative:
1. Therapeutic Community Seminar on Enhancement Training.
2. Launching of “Bilis Relis” jail congestion program.
3. Seminar on Herbal Plants as an alternative to the increasing cost of commercial drugs and medicine.
4. Dental and Medical Mission sponsored by the Local Government of Abuyog and Provincial Government of Leyte.
Administrative:

1. Partial perimeter fencing from Entrance Gate to the Admin. Bldg.
2. Construction of DN-ULTRA Hospital is already 80% completed under the leadership of USEC Oscar C Calderon.
3. Extension of Dental Clinic and Pharmacy
4. Expansion of concrete and cyclone wire fencing in front of the Main Camp.
