FUNCTIONS
1. Prepare and report to DC for endorsement to
the secretary of Justice on escapes, recaptures, deaths, injuries
of prisoners, including but not limited to any incidents/disturbances
or unusual events/occurrences on all penal institutions.
2. Review and sign payrolls of inmates
3. Review and sign disbursement vouchers of inmates
4. Request to use motor vehicles/buses of BuCor
5. Review and sign reply/queries regarding the case/status/whereabouts
of prisoners
6. Review and sign order for compliance of all subpoenas/summons
issued to NBP inmates
7. Review and sign sworn statements executed by inmates
8. Formulate guidelines on visitorial privileges
9. Formulate policy safeguarding property such as quarters, lots
buildings and edifices
10. Recommended proposals to address congestion problem in penal
institutions
11. Institute control measures to check proliferations of quarters
and illegal dwellers
12. Review and sign transmittal letter of carpetas, prison records
to BPP
13. formulate guidelines that would mutually benefit the drivers
and commuters to obtain and orderly and smooth flow of traffic inside
the NBP reservation
14. Endorse matters/matters communications pertaining to the conduct
of educational tours and media interviews of inmates to the office
of the Director for approval
15. Act on such matters which the director deems necessary. Whenever
one assistant director files a vacation or sick leave, or is otherwise
indisposed for period of three (3) working days or more, the Assistant
Director Present shall immediately assumed and act on the matters
mentioned herein, subject to the approval by the undersigned. It
is also incumbent upon their respective offices to impose the principles
of “Completed Staff Work” Specifically on all matters
proceeding from their end to the office of the Director.
